Fear and Loathing in My Office Closet

I am not an easily intimidated woman. If I seem intimidated it's probably because it looks too difficult and I am just lazy. But this closet kind of goes beyond that... Every time I have walked into this room over the last six months, I've maybe moved one item, then left. In fear.

My husband totally deserves a Man Cave. I'm all over that notion - the guy works hard and has lots of toys that I really don't care to interact with. (Plus - I love you, honey, I REALLY LOVE YOU - but this man saves everything *and the box it came in*, separately. Like even things that he hasn't touched in 5 years.) However, we aren't in Georgia/Alabama/Virginia any more, and houses in this part of the world don't have basements. (If they did... oh boy... it would be awesome!)

And I need some crafting space - half the reason I was so bent on getting the TV stand made and put in was so I can get the table the TV was on back as my craft table.

To make it all worse, when you have a toddler, everything you leave laying around is fair game (including your sewing machine), so before we knew it, his stuff, my stuff, and any stuff we didn't want messed with all ended up in one room.

...until today. My in-laws were kind enough to turn the guest bed over on it's side when they left, giving me plenty of floor space to empty (and vaccum!) the office closet.

B's work project is almost finished, so hopefully he will soon have some time away from that cushy black IKEA chair above to help me sort out what's below... before my mother and sister show up next Thursday.

Stereo components... board games... two DVD players... two TiVOs... manuals to a car he sold three years ago... timeshare books that haven't been touched since we moved in... toys Jamie has yet to grow into... every computer cord ever invented... VHS of my family's Christmases from 1981-1997ish... It's amazing what I found in there.

Including what I am almost certain is a dead frog. It was maybe 3/4" long and made a totally different crunchy sound when I vaccumed it up as opposed to dead bugs. Scary.
