Jamie had his first swim lesson at UNF yesterday. Over all I think it went really well - even if I did find myself singing the Gilligan's Island theme song to a pink plastic boat.
"Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip, that started from this tropic port, aboard this tiny ship..."
I so love Gilligan's Island. My little sister probably doesn't even know what that is. *sigh*
They say that these lessons are about teaching parents to be comfortable in the water with their children. Since I'm married to a former lifeguard (and I'm lazy), I am more comfortable in a chair while he takes the baby into any body of water, but I can handle 32 pounds of flailing wet baby on my own if I have to. I can also blow bubbles.
This was probably the first time I could get him to float on his stomach without putting up a tremendous fight...
All in all, pretty successful!
